Bridgewater hybrid James Hardie siding project making progress.
Guys had to first wrap the exterior in new 1/2 CDX plywood to ensure a flat solid surface for the siding to lay correctly.
Then wrapped the exterior in the Vycor enVs house wrap
when referring to the hybrid James Hardie system that means we will be installing the traditional cement board siding but instead of doing all the trim over in PVC really driving up the cost of the project. We are going to do all vinyl soffits, vinyl corner boards, and then wrap all the trim in a new white aluminum.
Have you gotten ridiculous prices to have James Hardie installed on your home? Give us a call and let us price out this hybrid system for you.
The best defense against weather damage starts before it arrives. Choose contractors who build with foresight and precision.

Growing pains in business are real.
Recently, I hired someone for sales and put a little too much faith in them. I’ll leave it at that and simply say… it didn’t work out.
Last month was one of the toughest months I’ve had in business. I lost more than what many people make in an entire year.
I had two choices: let it break me or get to work.
I chose to get back out there myself.
I started running estimates every chance I got. No exaggeration, I sold every single job I looked at and completely filled a schedule that was only booked out for another month.
When you’re responsible for a team of people and their families rely on you to provide steady work, the pressure becomes very real. Looking at a calendar with only a month of work left is enough to keep you up at night.
I never want to let my team down, and I never want to see any of them struggle to pay their bills because I didn’t do everything I could to keep work coming in.
So I did estimates every evening, came home and wrote proposals late into the night so homeowners had them as quickly as possible. At the same time, I was putting in 12- to 14-hour days building our new house in Wareham. Most days I leave at 6:00 in the morning and don’t get home until 6:00 or even 8:00 at night.
Was it exhausting? Absolutely.
Was it worth it? Every second.
If you’re going through a rough patch right now, don’t sit around waiting for things to magically get better. Get up and do something to change the outcome.
Nobody is coming to save you.
If you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way. It takes discipline. It takes sacrifice. It takes sleepless nights. It takes showing up when you don’t feel like it.
Success isn’t about never getting knocked down. It’s about refusing to stay there.
Keep pushing. The comeback is always earned.
Another job we started today in Bridgewater. This will consist of stripping the existing two layers of wood siding, wrapping the exterior in our vycor fully adhered house wrap, installing Hardie shingle on entire exterior, wrapping all trim and installing vinyl on all soffits as well as cleaning up all of the post for front porch and side entrances with New white PVC railing kits.
Looking forward to this one
New roof in Easton today.
after inspection of the attic, we discovered the soffits weren’t actually vented. Only appeared to be from the outside of the home. Easiest solution was to remove a couple rows of decking to drill down through the soffit and create a way for the air to enter.
Then install installing new CDX plywood to entire area of roof, followed by installing a full CertainTeed roof roofing system✅✅✅
The biggest mistake commercial property owners make?
Assuming every roofing company can handle a commercial project.
They can’t.
Commercial roofing is a different game. Larger crews. More coordination. More planning. More risk.
When a project involves multiple stories, cranes, occupied buildings, and tight timelines, experience matters.
If you own or manage commercial property in Southeastern Massachusetts or Rhode Island, this behind-the-scenes look shows what’s really involved in getting the job done right.
🏆 Another milestone we’re incredibly proud of.

Scituate James Hardie shingle and PVC trim job complete, just have to come back to beginning of the week to do a few small loose ends like patch the roof from where the chimney was removed, few missing downspout elbows in the electrical still needs to be completed
Overall, another beautiful transformation
Did your roofing crew protect your plants?
The answer is usually NO!
At Cycle Carpentry we try our best to protect your investments. This is our standard practice
We just placed an order to have a few more shrub protection kits added this season, so we will have even more available for houses with lots of plants.
At Cycle Carpentry we really do care and we listen to our customers and this is always a big concern for homeowners
Getting back into some deck work! We’ll probably start to advertise a little more for decking projects and see if we can start up a designated deck division.
This project the homeowner wanted to enclose the bottom of the porch with PVC slats and asked for quarter inch spacing not the typical three-quarter spacing. Finished project looks awesome.
Stayed late with the guys to wrap this one up in West Bridgewater. The boss even picked up a roofing gun and laid some shingles.
Small loose ends for tomorrow like rear gutter and gutter guards.
Finished the day by buying the crew dinner. Really appreciate everything and everyone who keeps Cycle Carpentry moving forward and growing!
Big news for Cycle Carpentry today 👏
We are proud to announce that we officially earned the new Resilience360™ Credential through CertainTeed — and from what we’ve been told, we are currently one of only 15 companies in the entire country to receive this credential.
This isn’t just another certification.
This is advanced training focused on true system-based exterior protection and building science.
Most homeowners think roofing and siding are just products.
But real protection comes from understanding how the entire home works together:
✔ Roofing
✔ Waterproofing
✔ Flashing
✔ Ventilation
✔ Moisture control
✔ Air & vapor management
✔ Drainage systems
✔ Whole-home performance
The reality is that most exterior failures don’t happen because shingles or siding fail… they happen because of poor installation details, shortcuts, and weak transition points.
That’s why workmanship matters more than most people realize.
The Resilience360™ program focuses on building homes that are designed to better withstand:
• Wind-driven rain
• Ice dams & snow melt
• Heavy storms
• Moisture intrusion
• Extreme temperatures
• Long-term weather exposure
At Cycle Carpentry, we’ve always believed that doing the job right the first time matters more than rushing through projects.
This credential reinforces the standards we already hold ourselves to every single day.
We’re extremely proud of our team for continuing to push ourselves to another level and bring the latest installation methods, training, and system-based protection to homeowners across the South Shore.
Because your home is only as strong as its weakest connection.

In training today with our team to earn our new credentials.
We are absolutely honored to be part of this pilot program, that less than 15 companies in Massachusetts got invited to take part in.
We are the very first phase in this new Resilience 360 program and what we can offer is worth an extreme amount of value. Massachusetts is the very first area to launch this program and we are thrilled to have been hand selected to participate.
Better warranties more value
Cycle Carpentry is being noticed and we do things right!
Middleboro project from today. Guys removed all the existing shingles and plywood. While the plywood was removed, it was coordinated to have an HVAC company come in and remove the attic system, along with all ductwork and set the new system in place.
The slow down the process a little bit, but the guys were still able to get all the PVC rakes install installed, we changed the size of the plywood to 5/8 and install installed baffles as needed, guys are working late to get the shingles on
Tomorrow, all that will be left will be soffit and facia trim along with new Gutters
Worried about your flowers or shrubs?
We go the extra step to make sure they are protected!
I have not seen any other local companies use this setup.
A roof replacement is a major project, but your landscaping shouldn’t have to suffer because of it. 🌿🏠
At Cycle Carpentry, we take extra steps to protect your property before we ever start tearing off a roof. From shrubs and flower beds to walkways and entryways, we carefully cover and shield the areas around your home to help prevent damage from falling debris and materials.
The little details matter. Anyone can throw shingles on a roof, but taking pride in protecting a customer’s home throughout the entire process is what separates a professional company from the rest.
We treat every home as if it were our own. Clean job sites, protected landscaping, and respect for your property are all part of the experience when you hire Cycle Carpentry. 💪🏼🍃
