James Hardie Hybrid Siding System
This Bridgewater, MA home needed more work than we expected. Before installing the James Hardie hybrid siding system, our Cycle Carpentry crew removed two layers of cedar shingles, rebuilt rotted areas, and installed new CDX plywood. The finished project included siding, trim, gutters, and porches, giving the home a fresh look from top to bottom.
What We Found Behind the Old Siding
Opening up this home revealed a bigger job than we had estimated. Behind the cedar shingles, we found rotted sections that needed to be rebuilt before siding could begin. This is the part of a renovation that disappears from view, but it accounted for a substantial amount of our work.
We included gutter replacement in this Bridgewater home’s exterior update. Gutters have a practical job: catching water as it runs off the roof and directing it to the downspouts. Along with a cleaner appearance at the roofline, the new gutters help keep runoff from pouring directly down the sides of the house.
